High Risk Areas In South Africa

What does high risk mean?

High risk refers to geographical areas which have a higher rate of theft or hijacking. The courier guy charges an extra surcharge fee of R80.50 to deliver to these areas. These areas are high risk as the courier guy vehicles have been hijacked in these areas before. These hijackings have taken place 5 or more times. 

What are my options if my address falls under a high risk area?

1. Use a different address for delivery – maybe a work address, a friend or a relatives address (3-5 working days for delivery).

2. Pay the surcharge of R80.50 – the courier guy delivers to your address in the high risk area (3-5 working days for delivery). The courier could however ask the customer to collect at their closest police station depending on the situation. This can be discussed with The Courier Guy. 
   
   
3. Customer collects at a PUDO / The Courier Guy locker or The Courier Guy Depot closest to them. For these locations, please contact us on 071 869 6228 with your address. Courier charge stays R109, no extra surcharge fees.
   
   
4. Customer collects at their nearest Pep stores. The courier service is PEP Paxi – Orders under R500 (Collect at your nearest pep stores. Delivery in 7-9 business days) Please indicate the pep stores address as the delivery address for your order. Cost – R60.Please only use this option for orders under R500. If a package goes missing, is hijacked, lost or stolen, PEP only refunds the product value up to R500. For example, if your ring is R1200, PEP will only refund R500. 
   
   
5. Customer chooses PAXI pep to deliver to their address. PEP Paxi (Store to Customers Door) – Orders under R500 (Delivery to the customers address. Delivery in 3-5 business days). Cost – R120. Please only use this option for orders under R500. If a package goes missing, is hijacked, lost or stolen, PEP only refunds the product value up to R500. For example, if your ring is R1200, PEP will only refund R500.
